Term 3, Week 10 2022
Dear Families
Isaac Nicholls Sports Scholarship
The Isaac Nicholls Sports Scholarship is a new initiative of the school and the first scholarship exclusively available at St John the Baptist Catholic School. Throughout the course of 2022, the school has worked closely with the Nicholls family in the development of the scholarship. It is named in recognition of Isaac Nicholls, who was a student at St John the Baptist Catholic School from 2014 to 2017. The funds for the scholarship are drawn from the Isaac Nicholls Memorial Fund, which was established in memory of Isaac, following his passing in 2017.
Two scholarships valued at $800 will be offered annually and awarded to the successful candidates during their first term of Year 6 education at St John the Baptist Catholic School. To be eligible for the Isaac Nicholls Sports Scholarship, applicants must be a student enrolled and attending the school in Year 5.
This week our Year 5 students and their families have all received information regarding the scholarships which outlines in detail the process for application. The successful recipients will be presented to the school community at the Thanksgiving End of Year Mass on Friday 9th December.
St John the Baptist Catholic School Colour Fun Run
We wish to thank the St John the Baptist Catholic School community for their great support of the Colour Fun Run held last Friday. We would particularly like to thank the parents who volunteered their time to assist on the day. It was a wonderful afternoon enveloped in a great sense of community spirit.
We kindly ask that once all donations have been collected that each family make one payment per child via the Qkr! App by tomorrow, Friday 30th September. The children will then be entered into the appropriate draw for a chance to win a Rebel Sport voucher. Winners will be drawn and announced at the first assembly of Term 4.
Catholic Schools Music Festival
The Senior Choir students (Years 5 and 6) performed at the Catholic Schools Music Festival last evening 28th September. This annual event is always a fantastic showcase of the musical abilities of students in Catholic schools. The St John the Baptist Senior Choir students were joined on stage by hundreds of children from Catholic schools around South Australia who performed a program of songs they have been rehearsing over the past three terms. Well done to the following students and their Choir Trainers, Antonietta Caruana and Lorraine Spencer. A fantastic effort by all involved!

Mass and Liturgy
We have finally come to the end of term and it has been a very full ten weeks of school. It was lovely to be able to celebrate Mass and liturgy this term with no restrictions. It has also been a blessing to have parents and caregivers join us for Mass and liturgy as it always special having the parish and school community join together.
We look forward to a restful break, ready for Term 4 which we anticipate being a busy but fruitful time of the year. Wishing you and your families a safe and enjoyable holidays!
